Local Horses is a book of photographs that depict horses of the most improbable colors, in and around greater Los Angeles. Stenciled off of organic, animal reality, but assembled and printed using digital tools, the book collides the documentary and the fantastical.
The book was first exhibited in the installation Local Horses Lounge at Circus Gallery in Los Angeles in 2008. Copies of the book include a postcard invitation to the show with a color photograph.
2008. 32 pages. 9 5/8 x 11 1/4" Glue bound. Brown imitation leather cover with gold foil stamp. Each page in the book is coated with a heavy gloss varnish. First edition of 50. Signed and numbered on the colophon.
